Today I will be immersing myself in an overall anaylsis of my Shopping Sabbatical Journey.
Have I seen any difference?
Yes, I clearly have!
This is to the point where I started altering my buying habits even before I started Shopping Sabbatical.

As a fashion student, I am well informed and aware about the negative consequences of fast fashion and overconsumption of fashion articles that are produced by companies involved in practices of child labor, exploitation, under-wage, overwork and producing litres and litres of water waste.

And have I actually stopped thinking about buying clothes?
No, unfortunately my answer would be the same as previous week because, it is hard to admit that I have actually seen any difference in thinking about clothes.
A possible explanation could be my field and yes it is my field because I write, think, wear, read and create fashion everyday and clearly this makes it unavoidable to invest my time in thinking about new clothes and fashion introduced by the industry everyday.

Interestingly the other day, I was reading a scholarly article on fast fashion in which it was clearly mentioned that how fashion from having two seasons per year has transitioned to 52 seasons with new styles flooding the stores every week.
Who is to blame? Consumers like us or the fashion giants?
An expert from fashion field has tried to answer it. She explained how people were not habitual to fast fashion and it is a very recent concept that big companies have used to perpetuate a habit in people to buy more and discard often.

However, with all the efforts by activists to stop this industry and changing the direction of production units towards more ethical approach has shown an optimistic future.
It will be interesting to see how fashion industry will reposition itself in a highly capitalistic and profit seeking society while taking care of the environment and people.

Till that time keep loving slow and sustainable fashion
I will see you in next one ♡
